William D. Bobbitt cannot be positively identified. I believe he was named William Drury Bobbitt and that he was a grandson of William and Susannah Bobbitt. His father was William Bobbitt, who was a son of William and Susannah. I doubt that he was born in I North Carolina, believe that this information was in error.

Wiley J. Bobbitt was a son of Lemuel and Ellender Bobbitt. Wiley is listed here with his first wife. His second wife was a Rebecca Lewis, believed to have been a sister of his first wife.
One can readily see that in 1850 most of the families in Montgomery County were descendants of William and Susannah Bobbitt. For this reason we believe that William D. Bobbitt was also a descendant.
