Elizabeth Bobbet        14 1836 Mississippi
Harriet Bobbet             4 1846 Mississippi
Sarah Bobbet          4/12 1850 Mississippi

Harriet would seem to be the widow of a Bobbet, but if so her last Bobbet child was born in April of 1850 and before the census of 1850 was taken Harriet was married again. We are unable to identify the family.

HOLMES COUNTY

Elizabeth (Neal) Bobbitt     29 1821 North Carolina

Arabella Bobbitt    7 1843  Mississippi

Mary Bobbitt*       1 1849 Mississippi

Anthony Bobbitt was born in Warren County, North Carolina.

We believe that he is a descendant of Randolph Bobbitt. His father may have been William L. Bobbitt of Yalobusha County, Mississippi. Anthony Bobbitt first married Abigail Townsend on November 8, 1838 in Carroll Co. Mississippi. Anthony Bobbitt secondly married Elizabeth Neal in Carroll County, Mississippi on November 6, 1848. The children listed here are the children of Anthony and Abigail Bobbitt with the exception of Mary Bobbitt* who is the daughter Of Anthony and Elizabeth Neal Bobbitt. The family is listed in the 1860 census of Anderson County, Texas.

Family # 142

Joseph J. Davis (physician)      35 1815 Louisiana
N. A. Bobbitt (Nathan)            24 1826 North Carolina-overseer

Nathan Bobbitt was from Halifax County North Carolina. He was a grandson of Charles and Patience (Harris) Bobbitt. His parents were Charles and Mary Ann Alston Bobbitt. He was born in Warren County, North Carolina and the family later moved to Halifax County. It seems likely that Nathan knew Anthony Bobbitt and was influenced by Anthony to live and work in Mississippi. Randolph Bobbitt had married Elizabeth Harris and the family connection would be on the Harris side of the family, more closely than on the Bobbitt side of the family.
