Robert Bobbitt was a son of Captain William Bobbitt of Grayson County. He was a brother of Rosanna Bobbitt and an uncle to the family of William Bobbitt listed above.

GRAYSON COUNTY

Grayson County was formed in 1792 from Wythe and Patrick counties. Bobbitt family members were living in this county when it was formed. They had moved to the area from Pittsylvania County, Virginia. Many of the Bobbitt families who lived in this county migrated to Pulaski County, Kentucky between 1822 and 1850.
