Hello Chird, Marsha, and Keith
The reason I am forwarding this message from the Lowestoft Record Office is because when I went to Salt Lake City recently, I searched the Beccles parish register (Church of England) - the microfilm only contained marriages and some churchyard burial inscriptions.  There were no baptisms on the film.  (I will send the results of this search in a few days). Because I do not have access to the baptism records for Beccles, would you be interested in contacting the Lowestoft Record Office and arranging research through their office?  Please let me know how to proceed . . .

Dear Ms Sears

Thank you for your email which was forwarded for my attention and received today 3 September.

We hold the original registers for Beccles parish church for the following years

baptisms        1586-1929
marriages        1586-1949
burials         1586-1891 (the churchyard officially closed in 1854 and was replaced by the civil cemetery)

along with an indexed transcript which covers the following:

baptisms        1586-1903
marriages        1586-1900
burials         1586-1854

It is however Suffolk Record Office policy to make all pre 1900 parish registers for the whole of Suffolk available at any of our 3 branches and therefore if it is more convenient to visit our Ipswich or Bury St Edmunds offices you will find copies of the original registers for the period 1586-1900 available for consultation on microfiche.

Hello Chird, Eileen, and Keith,

Thank you Eileen for your research thus far in the Beccles parish registers.

Chird and Eileen, it my vote to order the Beccles parish registers for baptisms from 1760 to 1830.

Lodicia Bobbitt's husband's name may or may not be John, but I would start there.  We have only one source the name is John, so we need to look outside of that genealogy bubble.  In the History of Carroll County, Tennessee by Turner, page 52 has Mr. Bobbitt surveyor in Pond Branch and page 53 John Bobbitt built a house.

We know that Mrs. Lodicia or Disa Bobbitt was born about 1780 in Alabama, USA and was married to Mr. John? Bobbitt by a traveling minister somewhere between northern Alabama and along the diaginal of the Tennessee valley to southern Virginia, possibly to Bedford County, Virginia.  Lodicia or Disa Bobbitt had children between 1810 and 1830 and she is a widow with children in the 1830 US Census Carroll County, Tennessee.

Eileen, please stay in very close contact with Chird and I and Keith as you contact England.  Thank you.  Don't forget to pray.

Regards,
Marsha

Hello Chird, Eileen, and Keith,

Marsha has perused Eileen's Bobbitt Research Report of 5 Sep 2010.

1500's to 1900's All Bobbitt and Variations National Burial Index for England and Wales:

Peter Bobbit, burial, 24 July 1778 Saint Michael, Beccles, Suffolk, England

Peter Bobbitt, burial, 5 January 1802 Saint Michael, Beccles, Suffolk, England

Marsha does not know if Chird and Eileen and Keith remembers or not,
but Marsha stated early in our research for Chird's Bobbitt family that somewhere she saw the father of Peter Bobbet [Quaker married Elizabeth Evans] in Bedford County, Virginia and relative and/or possible father for Mr. John? Bobbitt, surveyor and husband to Lodicia in Carroll County, Tennessee,

Was Peter Bobbet in Beccles.   Here is the proof of a Peter Bobbet in Beccles marriage.   Celebrate!

All of these are highly probable relatives, but the one that stands out and fits is:

Item 3, Marriage Registers, Vol. 3, 1586-1837

p. 2   Peter Bobbett [single] of Beccles to Mary Flowers [spinster] of Beccles
by banns 3 November 1755
witnesses:  Robert Chimmery and Will Bobbett

We need the births for the children of Peter Bobbett and Mary Flowers.
Whatever the name of their son, this is the husband of Lodicia.  If we have more than one son?  We can check on the names.

Lodicia Bobbitt was born 1780 in Alabama and is 80 years old according to the 1860 US Census, Big Creek, Craighead, Arkansas.

Marsha believes Lodicia's husband could be far older than her, yes, maybe even possibly up to 20 years older than her.

Anything is possible, for example:
On Marsha's Crabb line William Augustus Crabb was chr 2 Oct 1743 Falmouth, Cornwall, England and
his 1st wife Jane or Jean Minshall chr 1762 Middletown, old Lancaster now Dauphin, Pennsylvania and they were married 11 May 1780 Middletown, Dauphin, Pennsylvania and they had 4 children. Child Henry Crabb born 25 Dec 1794 caused the 29 Dec 1794 death of his mother
1778
1762
A 16 year difference in age

his 2nd wife Elizabeth Kendig was chr 19 Sep 1778 Lancaster, Lancaster, Pennsylvania and they were married 17 Mar 1800 Sunbury, Northumberland, Pennsylvania by Elizabeth's minister relative and they had 5 children.
1778
1743
A 35 year difference in age [Notes and Queries, Historical and Genealogical, Chiefly Related to Interior Pennsylvania, Edited by William Henry Egle,  First and Second Series in Two Volumes, Volume 1, Baltimore, Genealogical Publishing Company, 1970,
page 182. Crabb-Kendig, At Sudbury, March 17, 1800, of William Crabb of Middletown and Miss Kendig of Lancaster] matched the marriage record ages and family Bible records.

How about someone Marsha knows?  W. LeGrand Maxwell [who is deceased] is 18 years older than his only wife Margaret Finlayson Maxwell and Marsha has known them since 1959 and George has known them since May 1966 and they knew our daughter Camille when Marsha brought Camille home from the hospital 4 days after her birth covered in a red Christmas stocking the hospital gave Marsha on Christmas eve 24 Dec 1966.

As the only source we have for the first name John for the surveyor is from the book The History of Carroll County, Tennessee, Vol. 1, by Turner, page 53 John Bobbett built a house near Pond Branch.

Important Note:  The book first name John may or may not be correct.  We need to always look outside of the genealogy bubble.

Happy Labor Day Monday.

Regards,
Marsha

Hello Chird, Eileen, and Keith,
 .
Chird, you know how genealogy sometimes does not fit?  And that genealogy is not what you first thought?  Roberta Estes has an excellent Estes/Berry pedigree on John Estes born 15 Sep 1790 in Lincoln County, Kentucky and died 1877 Casey County, Kentucky,

and Marsha knows what Roberta has is not Chird's Sallie A. Bobbitt Estes's husband's direct Estes line because Chird's John Estes was born in 1790 in Virginia and died in 1853 in Jackson, Madison, Tennessee, and is buried No. 18, Joseph Fenner McCallum Farm, Jackson, Madison, Tennessee,

obviously 2 different John Estes born the same year in 1790.

Announcing:
As of Tuesday, 7 Sep 2010, Marsha found Sallie A. Bobbitt Estes' inlaws and their pedigree chart on ancestry oneworldtree and that Chird's line goes back to Abraham Estes the immigrant, through his son Thomas, a brother of Moses.

Chird, this is your Sallie A. Bobbitt's husband Samuel James Estes's Estes pedigree chart!

Generation One:
Samuel James ESTES, Dr., born 27 Aug 1874 Wall Hill, , Mississippi and

Generaton Three:
John Coleman ESTES born 1790 Virginia and died in 1853 in Jackson, Tennessee and
married Penelope EVANS, daughter of John Evans, in 1828 and had 10 children including Robert Fenner Estes and

Mary Marshall was born 30 Mar 1736 Culpepper County, Virginia and died 12 Jun 1772 Caroline County, Virginia

Generation Six:
Thomas ESTES 1688 Saint Stephen, King and Queen County, Virginia and
married Ann ROGERS in 1725 in Virginia and

Ann Rogers was born in 1690 in Virginia and died in 1745 in Caroline County, Virginia

Generation Seven:
Abraham ESTES [the immigrant who came on the ship Martha arriving in Jan 1674 in City Point, Charles City, Virginia with Keith Bobbitt's and Marsha Berry's immigrant ancestor William Bobbet] born 1647 in Nonington, Kent, England.
and he married Barbara [Brock??] and
had 15 children including Thomas Estes
He died 21 Nov 1720 in King and Queen County, Virginia.
Barbara was baptised in 1662 in Saint Stephen, King and Queen County, Virginia and died 25 Nov 1720 King and Queen County, Virginia.

Note: Roy Eastes and Roberta Estes wish they could confirm Barbara's surname is Brock.

Marsha thinks it is great that Chird's Sallie A. Bobbit's husband Samuel James Estes's Estes ancestor Abraham Estes came to Virginia with Marsha's and Keith's ancestor William Bobbet.

Be safe.

Marsha

Hi Marsha,

I  have never seen nor heard of any baptismal record for Barbara, wife of Abraham.  If we had her baptismal records, we'd know her maiden name.  He had 12 children, not 15.  Most of us due to various circumstances believe that there were at least two wives involved, but we have no idea of the first wife's name.    Someone gave him 3 extra kids.  Thomas's info seems to be correct, except again, no baptismal record so we have his birth year as "about".

We have Barbara's birth as 1670 based on an age calculation based on an age of approximately 43 when her last child was born in 1713, a date we know for certain via subsequent litigtion.  That's the best we can do.

Roberta

Do I have it wrong and how does this John Bobbitt fit in my line?
Thanks.

On Chird's bobbittville website is a large repository of Babbitt and Bobbitt families,
including Keith's and Marsha's Bobbitt family along with Chird's Bobbitt family.

Just because Chird has the 1850 US Census, Pike County, Arkansas with a John Babbitt as the son of Sanford Babbitt of Pennsylvania on his bobbittville website does not mean Chird is related to this family and they fit in his tree.

The Sanford Babbitt genealogy:

Sanford Babbitt birthplace: Pennsylvania
Volume 6, Page 186, Babbitt Family History by William Bradford Browne, Taunton, Massachusetts
The Sanford Babbitt family is from western England.

Elizabeth Huffman was married in 1830 in Clark County, Arkansas.
to Sanford Babbitt who was born 1799 and he died 6 July 1842 in Clark County, Arkansas,
and Elizabeth remarried a 2nd husband David Bixby.

1850 US Census, Antoine Township, Pike County, Arkansas

David Bixby age 53 farmer born New York
Elizabeth [1797 to 1870] Huffman age 51 born Pennsylvania
John [Alexander 1833 to 1900] Babbitt age 17 born Arkansas
Mary [Magdalene 1837 to 1883] Babbitt age 13 born Arkansas

Sarah [1842] Babbitt age 8 born Arkansas

Keith, would you know whether or not the Babbitt from PA which is the Taunton, Massachusetts line has done their Y-DNA testing and if they have what those results are?   They have a web site that you have to apply for to join, so I do not know what they have.

1860 US Census, Big Creek, Craighead, Arkansas, Lodicia Bobbitt,
widow, age 80, born about 1780 in Alabama, living with son Moses L. or Len Bobbitt

On the 1850 US Census day the widow Lodicia Bobbitt could be traveling between the home of her son Edward G. Bobbitt and Moses L. or Len Bobbitt or other children.

Chird's bobbittville website has a list of 5 different Bobbitt families in the 1840 US Census in Arkansas, a similar situation to the 1850 US Census.  Just because these 5 Bobbitt families are on Chird's website does not mean they all are related to Chird, but, however, in this list one is related.
Note we had emailed each other on 5 May about this list.

1840 US Census, Missouri, Clark, Arkansas, Sanford B. Babbitt

1840 Census, Mitchell Township, Poinsett [Greene] County, Arkansas, Lydia [Lodicia] Bobbitt, widow, with son Edward G. Bobbitt

1830 US Census, Carroll County, Tennessee, the widow Lodicia or Dsa or Disa Bobbitt and her children

Book:  The Ties That Bind:  the widow Lodicia Bobbitt and her children went from Tennessee to Arkansas with the Cooks, Cardwells and Burrows families, but, not with a Sanford Babbitt and his son John Babbitt.

Hello Eileen, Chird, and Keith,

Thank you Eileen for coming over to my house today, Saturday, 18 September 2010, this pm,
bringing me over the paper pedigree chart and family group sheets for John Bobbett born 1784 in Beccles, Suffolk, England as well as the pedigree chart and family group sheets for James Bobbett with parents Peter Bobbett and Mary Flowers.

Yes,  Eileen, we do have a lot of cause to celebrate the christening  date of 21 June 1784 Beccles, Suffolk, England for John, the surveyor, Bobbitt/Bobbett and 2 additional generations added to Chird's genealogy,
after combining the information Marsha has on her PAF5.2,
we have a connection between John Bobbett born 1784 in Beccles, Suffolk, England and the Peter Bobbett the converted Quaker who was in Virginia and on 20 Oct 1824 Bedford County, Virginia married Elizabeth Evans.

Peter Bobbett the converted Quaker in Bedford County, Virginia is the brother of James Bobbet who is born 1767 in Beccles, Suffolk, England and who married Hannah Press
and their parents are
Peter Bobbett born about 1720 Suffolk County, England and died Jan 1802 Beccles, Suffolk, England and Mary Flowers born about 1728 Suffolk County, England and died Jan 1802 Beccles, Suffolk, England.  Peter Bobbett and Mary Flowers married 3 Nov 1755 Beccles, Sufflolk, England.

In my PAF5.2 calculator, John Bobbett born 1784 in Beccles, Suffolk, England and died before the 1830 US Census, Carroll County, Tennessee and husband of Lodicia,
is a 2nd cousin to Peter Bobbett the convered Quaker who married Elizabeth Evans.  Their common ancestors are William Bobbett born about 1694 in Suffolk County, England and died about 1718 in Beccles, Suffolk, England and wife Susannah who died Dec 1765 in Beccles, Suffolk, England.

The 2 sons of William Bobbett born about 1694 and Susannah are
1. Peter Bobbett born about 1720 and married Mary Flowers
2. William Bobbett born about 1735 and married Ann Dunnett

The pedigree chart for John, the surveyor, Bobbitt who married Lodicia is:

John Bobbitt/Bobbett chr 21 June 1784 Beccles, Suffolk, England and married Lodicia in the USA and John died before the 1830 US Census, Carroll County, Tennessee
John and Lodicia had 7 children including Chird's Moses L. or Len Bobbitt

William Bobbett chr 19 Oct 1755 Beccles, Suffolk, England and married Sarah Alcock 5 May 1782 Beccles, Suffolk, England and William was buried 18 Jul 1821 Beccles, Suffolk, England
William and Sarah had 9 children including John Bobbitt/Bobbett

William Bobbett born about 1735 Suffolk County, England and
married Ann Dunnett 9 Feb 1749 Beccles, Suffolk, England and
Ann died 4 Nov 1791 Beccles, Suffolk, England
William and Ann had 2 children including William Bobbet

William Bobbet born about 1694 Suffolk County, England and
married Susannah and Susanah died Dec 1765 Beccles, Suffolk, England
William and Susannah had 2 children including William Bobbett

Chird, Keith, and Eileen,  I will soon add my PAF5.2 information about John Bobbett chr 21 June 1784 Beccles, Suffolk, England and the 2 additonal generations on my computer to the ancestry tree I have for Chird.

Thank you again Eileen for your good work and help with making the Beccles Bobbett and Bungay Bobbett PAF from the Beccles and Bungay, Suffolk, England CD's and for your report from the Beccles and Bungay CD's.

Everyone can have cake and ice cream to celebrate.

Regards,
Marsha

Hello Chird, Eileen, and Keith,

On Sunday, 19 Sep 2010, Marsha was perusing one of the Beccles CD's and has found an update for the about 1770 birth date for Sarah Alcott, who is the wife of William Bobbett who was baptised on 19 Oct 1755 Beccles, Suffolk, England.

Marsha has added on the ancestry tree she has for Chird's genealogy:
"Bobbitt Arkansas, Tennessee, Virginia and Beccles, Suffolk, England Genealogy Research,"

the baptism of 24 June 1760 for Sarah Allcott, the daughter of John and Mary Allcott, from the Beccles CD.

Marsha will add the siblings of Sarah Allcott on Chird's ancestry tree when she has time as this week is Marsha's family's busiest week in September.

In case you were wondering, Marsha has since we began Chird's genealogy research, has had her own PAF5.2 on a disc with Chird Bobbitt's genealogy and keeps it updated.  It is from Marsha's PAF5.2 that you see the ancestry tree for Chird.

Marsha's schedule this week for Monday 22 Sep is to get ready for the Wednesday 22 Sep birthday of our great niece Tara Reid who lives in St. George, Utah with her brother and grandma who is George's sister Kimberly Davis and the Thursday 23 Sep birthday of Judy Mix who is a distance relative on Marsha's Garr line, and the Friday 24 Sep wedding reception of our niece Jennifer Berry [the same Jennifer Berry who is the manager of the book section of the BYU Bookstore and has now published 2 of Marsha's genealogy books and yes will keep working at the BYU Bookstore and is the daughter of George's brother Jim and his wife and former BYU summer roommate of Marsha's, Helen Peterson Berry] and the Saturday 25 Sep morning marriage of Jennifer Berry and Jerry Price in the LDS Provo Utah Temple.

Hello Chird, Eileen and Keith,

Around 1:30 pm on Tuesday, 28 September 2010, Eileen Sears came to Marsha Berry's house for a meeting to plan our Chird Bobbitt Research.

We have William Bobbett born about 1694 and his wife Susannah married about 1718 and their children born with their baptisms in both Beccles, Suffolk, England and Worlingham, Suffolk, England.

The Chird Bobbitt research agenda for Eileen Sears and Marsha Berry is:

1.   Question:  Where were William and Susannah Bobbett married?

There was no marriage information found on the Beccles CD or the Bungay CD, so we need to look elsewhere for the marriage.

Note:  Marsha and Eileen would like to share the Beccles CD and the Bungay CD for research if that is ok with Chird as he has not seen these CD's as of yet.

2.   Eileen will look again at Worlingham, Suffolk, England - check towns near Worlingham

3.  Swaffham, west of Norwich, in Norfolk, England has Bobbitts

4.  There are other Bobbitts in Norfolk County, England

5.  Eileen has checked the IGI and will check it again

6.  Eileen will look again in the Hugh Wallis IGI

Note:  Marsha has an attachment for our research for Chird with possible information we may need as we research.

Eileen will soon be emailing us an email about our meeting today and information she has and possible after-the-meeting ideas.

Regards,
Marsha

Hello to all,
After searching the IGI to see which parishes in both Norfolk and Suffolk where Bobbetts were recorded and also considering parishes within a 5 mile radius from Beccles, I believe the following research plan to be sound:

First, search the parish records of Worlingham (which begins in the late 1500's) for the marriage of William Bobbett (born about 1694) and Susannah.
If needed, search the following additional parishes within the 5 miles of Beccles (which parishes are in Suffolk):
North Cove and Shipmeadow Burgh.  Although there were an additional 8 parishes in Suffolk (from the IGI) that had Bobbetts, all are farther than 30 miles from Beccles.

In addition, there were several parishes in Norfolk which (from the IGI) showed Bobbetts in them.  However, the closest parish of Great Yarmouth is 13 miles from Beccles, Norwich is 17 miles and Swaffham 20+ miles.  At this juncture, I think a search of Norfolk parishes should be on hold until the Suffolk parishes within 5 miles of Beccles are searched and then make a decision from there.

If any of you have additional suggestions, please feel free to comment.  If you concur with this research plan, also let me know of your thoughts.
Thanks,
Eileen

Hello Chird, Eileen, and Keith,

Marsha has found James Bobbett christened 2 October 1726 Barnby, Suffolk, England, son of William Bobbett and Susan, in the IGI, but cannot determine if this is or is not an extracted chr record.  This seems to be the son of our William Bobbett and Susannah.

Question:  Is there an extracted James Bobbett christened 2 October 1726 Barnby, Suffolk, England record available on a CD?

Question:  Is there a Barnby, Suffolk, England CD?

Note:  This may be the child that fills the gap between the years of 1723 and 1730 of the children of William Bobbett and Susannah that Marsha mentioned her 26 Sep 2010 email.

If you look at google maps or other maps, locate Beccles, Suffolk, England.  East of Beccles is Worlingham, then further east is North Cove, then further east is Barnby.

Marsha has found other information she will share at another time.

Regards,
Marsha

Hello Chird, Eileen, and Keith,

Thanks to the faithful Old familysearch.org, Marsha has more than answered her own question in her previous 3:02 AM 29 September 2010 email:
Is there an extracted James Bobbett chr 2 Oct 1726 Barnby, Suffolk, England record available on CD?,
because Marsha had first looked at the new familysearch which a person cannot tell if the record is or is not extracted.

Surprise!
Marsha found 2 James Bobbet extracted christening records, one chr 2 May 1725 and one chr 2 Oct 1726 Barnby, Suffolk, England, sons of William Bobbet and Susan.

IGI Individual Record
James Bobbet
Christening:  2 May 1725 Barnby, Suffolk, England

Source Call No.  0097126 Film

Parish registers for Barnby, 1554-1949 Church of England.  Parish Church of Barnby [Suffolk]

Question:
Do you all believe this proves the parents William Bobbet and Susan are our same William Bobbett and Susannah?

If you believe these are our parents, then we have 2 James Bobbet's to add as children.

Question:  Eileen, is there a Barnby, Suffolk, England CD available?  There may be more information available.

Please look at google maps for Beccles, go east to Worlington, go further east to  North Cove, then go further east to Barnby.

Regards,
Marsha

Hello Eileen,

Yes, Gulielmi is the Latin form of William and Susannae is the Latin form of Susannah.

Marsha did not say they were not the same people as William Bobbett and Susannah and not Chird Bobbitt's family, as Marsha is just wondering, was it one priest who wrote the christenings of Daniel Bobbitt 22 May 1730 and Ezra Bobbit 9 July 1732 in Worlingham in Latin?

And Marsha was wondering, was it a different priest who recorded the twins Abraham and Sarah chr 7 Mar 1733 in Worlingham having their parents written William Bobbett and Susannah?

It would be interesting if we could see the original writing of who Marsha thinks is 2 different priests in Worlingham, Suffolk, England.  It is one of those times when I would have liked to have been there when the various people did the extraction back in 1980.

Marsha

Hello Chird, Eileen, and Keith,

As Sunday is a good day to do genealogy, Marsha did some perusing in the old familysearch for Chird's Bobbitt family, Marsha believes she has found 2 more daughters of William Bobbett and Susanna in the old familysearch IGI, in North Cove, Suffolk, England.

If you were to look at a map like google maps, and travel from west to east and start in Beccles, you would go to Worlingham, then North Cove, then Barnby.

These are both extracted christening records, Parish registers for North Cove, 1696-1948 Church of England.  Parish Church of North Cove [Suffolk]

Susanna Bobbit
Christening:  14 Oct 1737 North Cove, Suffolk, England
Father:  Wm. Bobbit
Mother:  Susanna
Batch No. C013662
Dates:  1696-1875

Father:  William Bobbet
Mother: Susanna
Batch No. C013662
Dates: 1696-1875
Source Call No.  0097131 Film

As Marsha perused the complete old familysearch IGI this should be all of the children, 11 children total for William Bobbett and Susanna.  You all can recheck as more eyes are better than one pair.

Places of birth for the 11 children of William Bobbett and Susanna are:
1. Elizabeth in Beccles
2. Peter in Beccles
3. William in Beccles
4. James in Barnby
5. James in Barnby
6. Daniel in Worlingham
7. Ezra in Worlingham

Hello Eileen,

Yes, I need the Beccles and Bungay CD's as I am not quite finished with them.  Thanks.

I will not be able to get around to looking at the CD's until probably after the Thursday, 14 October 2010, 11th birthday of our twin grandsons Denver and Hunter.  And, I have another genealogy project to work on first.  So, if you are still planning on going to the Salt Lake City Utah Family History Library on the 14th, you can bring the CD's to me then.

It is so neat we are thinking the same thing at the same time in reference to the 2 more daughters of William Bobbett and Susanne.

Thank you Eileen.
Marsha

Hello Chird, Keith, and Eileen,

Today, Thursday, 14 October 2010, it was about 2:30 pm that Eileen Sears came to Marsha Berry's house after since early morning being at the Salt Lake City, Utah Family History Library doing research for Chird Bobbitt's Suffolk County, England Bobbetts.

Marsha asked Eileen: Did you find something on Chird's Bobbett family in the Salt Lake City, Utah Family History Library?

Eileen said:  Yes I did.
Marsha was very happy at the good news.

Eileen found and Marsha wants Eileen to announce the where and dates in her report:

1.  The marriage for William Bobbett and spouse Susanna

2.  Another child for William Bobbett and wife Susanna

Eileen said: You know when you feel you are to look in a certain book?
Marsha said:  Yes.  And Eileen looked in that certain book and found what she did today.

We have yet to find William Bobbett's baptism and we will.  William's family as children are born seems to be moving west to east from Beccles and a little west again.  Eileen and Marsha have estimated William's birth as born "about 1694," and he could be born several years difference and in any direction or radius from Beccles as his first children were born in Beccles.  We need to check on several various radius from Beccles.

Eileen brought over the Beccles and Bungay CD's as Marsha wants another look at them.  After Marsha is done, Eileen will mail the CD's to Chird.

Eileen told Marsha that her computer has crashed, but she can communicate with us using her husband's computer.

Thank you Eileen for a great research job.

Marsha

Hello everyone,
I have great news to share with you all!!  Attached is the research report and findings.  Have a great weekend.  As I still have not found the christening for William Bobbett, born about 1684, I will need to conduct a radial search of the nearby parishes within a 5 mile radius of Beccles.  A project for another trip to Salt Lake City in another couple of weeks.
Once my computer is up and running, I will update my Bobbett family file and send all of you an updated version.

Hello Chird, Eileen, and Keith,

Good morning everyone.

Marsha has updated her private ancestry tree for Chird Bobbitt research called "Bobbitt Arkansas, Tennessee, Virginia and Beccles, Suffolk, England Genealogy Research," from the latest information Eileen sent us from her 15 October 2010 trip to the SLC FHL and Marsha's 1500's to 1900's All Bobbitt and Variations National Burial Index England and Wales; and you all have access.

The 2 additional children of William and Susannah Bobbitt have been added:
1.  Philipus or Phillip Bobbett born about 1727 Worlingham, Suffolk, England and was buried 4 October 1730 Worlingham, Suffolk, England
2.  Daniel Bobbitt chr 8 Aug 1736 North Cove, Suffolk, England

Burial 4 Oct 1740 Philip Bobbitt infant Suffolk, Worlingham, All Saints
Source:
1500's to 1900's All Bobbitt and Variations National Burial Index England and Wales, page 9

Also, Peter Bobbit who married Ann Swallows on 25 July 1722 was buried on 24 July 1778 in Beccles, Suffolk, England, Saint Michael
Source:  1500's to 1900's All Bobbitt and Variations National Burial Index England and Wales, page 12

Peter Bobbett and Ann Swallows had a son John Bobbett who married Ann Ayton on 5 Feb 1748

Chird, under your "Bobbitt Arkansas, Tennessee, Virginia and Beccles, Suffolk, England Genealogy Research," on your bobbittville web site, you have type-o's that needs correction.  There is no William Bobbett born 1735 that was buried on the same date as Peter Bobbit as it is Peter Bobbit only who was buried on 24 July 1778 in Beccles, Suffolk, England, Saint Michael.

Chird's correction for William Bobbitt who was born 1723:
Page 12 of 1500's to 1900's All Bobbitt and Variations National Burial Index England and Wales
Burial on 6 Sep 1799 William Bobbitt age 76 Beccles, Suffolk, England, Saint Michael

William Bobbitt born 1723 and buried 1799 is the son and 3rd child of William and Susanna Bobbett and who married Ann Dunnett.

Regards,
Marsha
