Hi, Keith -
Martilla was married first to Samuel Stockton with whom she migrated to Texas. Actually, I believe you have Martilla and Samuel's marriage record on your website! Anyway, he died, and she then married a fellow "Peters Colonist" George Washington Glover. She and he are my great-great-great grandparents, and what I wouldn't give for a portrait of them! I have heard rumor that there may be one that exists in Dallas, but I haven't been able to get my hands on a copy.
M. C. Toyer in Dallas is the man who knows the most about them, and one of the pages I have emailed to you is his article, which is also posted on Jim Wheat's Dallas County Archives website http://freepages.history.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~jwheat/ (use the Search box for 'Martilla'). Mr. Toyer gave me permission to include his articles in my book. He is a direct descendant of William Wald Glover, G.W. and Martilla's oldest son (and reportedly the first documented baby born in Dallas County.)
The first page I emailed to you (in the last message) is my own essay which cites information from 'The Peters Colony of Texas'. There is another very old book - no longer in print - that references George and Martilla and purports to explain what happened to Martilla's first husband. I can give you that information if you are interested in it.
Laurie
