Know all men by these presents that both Wm. Bobbitt and Stephen Bobbitt are held and firmly bound unto Christopher Greenup, Esquire, Governor of Kentucky in the formal sum of fifty pounds and for the payment of which will and truly be made and now we bind ourselves and heirs, estates and assigns, all jointly, severally and firmly by these presents, sealed with our seal and dated this 8th day of July 1808.

The conditions of the above obligation is such that whereas there is a marriage intended between the above named Wm. Bobbitt and Elizabeth Hail for which a license to her this day approved. Now if there should be no lawful objections to obstruct their marriage, then this obligation to be void, else to remain in full force and virtue.
