It was here that John Bobbitt met Nancy Huse, who was born in Kentucky. Her parents were born in Virginia. All of the children of John and Nancy Bobbitt were born in Tennessee and Alabama. They were reared for the significant part of their lives in Indiana.
John and Nancy had ten children who lived to maturity, five boys and five girls. In the first census taken after they moved to Indiana the family was counted with the exceptions of Jemimah who was born in 1809 and was married. She lived near the family. The eldest son, Harrision, was also away from home at the time of this census, taken in 1830.
