There is no evidence that William Bobbitt Senior, "the first son of John Bobbitt of Chowan" had more than the two sons. No Bobbitt appears in the records of North Carolina, Virginia, South Carolina or Georgia that could mathematically or genealogically be eligible as a son of William Bobbitt Senior.

The two sons, William Junior and John, would have to have their children between the years of 1744 and 1772 . Actually John Bobbitt's family was born between 1743 and 1763, and his family is well documented.

April 24, 1753

King George II of England to Lewis Bobbitt of Granville County, Province of North Carolina, Planter. 450 acres of land on the south side of Reedy Creek.

July 4, 1754

William Bobbitt of orange County to Thomas Williams of Granville County, 550 acres of land on the south side of Reedy Creek, at the mouth of Reedy Spring Gut.

This is part of the 600 acres of land that William Bobbitt Sr. received in his land grant of 1749. The land is in present day Warren County North Carolina. Reedy Creek and Little Fishing Creek were so close together that they are sometimes used interchangeably.

August 20, 1754

William Bobbitt of Orange County to Daniel Farris of Granville County, 50 acres of land on the south side of Little Fishing Creek, joining the said Bobbitt, and is part of a land grant to the said William Bobbitt. Witnesses: John Bobbitt and George Hazelwood.

The land granted to William Bobbitt Senior in 1749 has been sold. William Senior and his son William Jr. are now living in Orange County. They did not live in Orange County very long for we have a deed which indicates that they had returned to Granville County in 1755.

April 4, 1755

William Bobbitt Senior of Granville County to John Jones of Edgecombe County for 30 pounds of current money of Virginia, 100 acres of land in Granville County. Witnesses: John Steele, and William Anderson (Book C, page 51, Granville County.)

In 1755 we have in our records four mature Bobbitt males, who are heads of families. They are William Bobbitt Senior, Lewis Bobbitt, William Bobbitt Junior, and John Bobbitt. No others are mentioned.
