SS JAMES BOBBITT SS JOHN BOBBITT
The above deed was the last deed made by John or James Bobbitt in Pittsylvania County. James was living at the time in Grayson County and John later moved to Montgomery County. After this land transaction the only son of James and Elizabeth Bobbitt left in Pittsylvania County was Randolph Bobbitt.
After the deed of 1794, John Bobbitt went to live in Amherst County, where he was listed in the county tax lists of Lexington Parish. John was taxed for one son over 21 years of age. The son was Uriah Bobbitt. John Junior was too young to be taxed.
