Susan Bobbitt married Thomas D. Hill, the eldest son of Sergeant James and Anne Hill of Amherst County. Sergeant James Hill was a Revolutionary War soldier. Born in 1777 died in 1863
James Bobbitt married Rosanna Bobbitt his first cousin. Rosanna was a daughter of William Bobbitt. The couple was married in 1799 in what at the time was Grayson County. Captain William Bobbitt was the bondsman for his daughter. They were married by Robert Jones, a minister of the Gospel. James and Rosanna Bobbitt reared a large family and provided a home for John Bobbitt until he died.
Stephen Bobbitt was the first Bobbitt to live in what is today West Virginia. He owned at one time over 2,000 acres of land on Coal River. He was listed in the Kanawha County tax lists in 1810 but is not recorded after that date. We believe that he had only one son, named Henry Bobbitt, and that Stephen left the area to live in Pennsylvania.
Uriah Bobbitt married Polly Ally, the daughter of John Ally of Amherst County. They were married on October 5, 1811. The marriage is recorded on page 227 of Amherst County records. Uriah Bobbitt left Amherst County and lived in Tipton County, Tennessee. Later he and his descendants moved to Mississippi. Descendants today live in Tennessee, Mississippi, Texas, and Utah.
John Bobbitt Junior born in 1785, married Permelia Hill of Amherst County. Permelia was a daughter of Sergeant James and Anne (Overton) Hill. They were married on December 8, 1802 in Amherst County. Uriah Bobbitt and William Watts were the bondsmen. William Watts later married Polly Hill, a sister of Permelia. In 1827 John and Permelia moved to Monroe County (now West Virginia) where they reared a large family.
Lacy Bobbitt born in 1787 served as a soldier in the War of 1812. He was reared by his older brother and his wife, James and Rosanna Bobbitt. Lacy Bobbitt became ill in the service as a result of over- in the war of 1812. He died in Norfolk Virginia. In a death bed message and will, he left property to "Little Jack" (a young son of James and Rosanna) and to Matilda and Vincent Bobbitt. Matilda and Vincent were his sister and brother. Lacy was not married.
Recorded in Grayson County records in 1818 in file 31, is a suit between John Trimble and Jacob Lineberry. The suit alleges that Trimble is administrator of Lacy Bobbitt who died in 1815 at Norfolk Virginia. Lacy was survived by neither wife nor descendants, leaving John Bobbitt as his "Heir at law and distributee". John did not qualify as administrator, so Trimble who was a creditor, did qualify.
